What did you like about Dead Space 3? I'm eager to hear your side of the story because it disappointed me :(

I think that, for the most part, Dead Space 3 lived up to the promise of being a true continuation of the story. While it felt a little flat in places — I’m looking at you, Isaac/Ellie relationship — it told a serviceable story that actually felt like a true part of the DS mythos, rather than being something tacked on. Now, as far as gameplay was concerned, it was hit or miss. I missed the psychological aspects of the first two games, although when playing co-op, there’s a very interesting mission that really amps up that aspect between Isaac and Carver. I liked how cinematic the game was, with the big action pieces, with the excellent music, and the part where the ship flies down into the atmosphere of the planet was almost on par with Dead Space 2’s halo jump. While DS 2 was a masterpiece, DS 3 was content to be a worthy follow up that held a number of gameplay flaws. More action led to less tension; fast-paced gameplay led to fast-paced storytelling, which instead of being intriguing merely felt rushed. And repeating interesting game mechanics felt like repetition instead of awesome. But overall, I liked it. I didn’t love it, but I liked it. And that’s certainly more than I can say for Uncharted 3.
