Icelandic! It's wild, like a fuzzy bear. I've got a Navajo-churro fleece and a Romney to play with as well, but so far the Icelandic is my favorite.

I'll send you some- I have about 25 lbs in my house at the moment. Yes, you read that right. Family is about to pitch me out. You still have my email? sarahblack5@yahoo.com. I've got dark brown, tan, and creamy white- all with a bit of silvery gray from the guard hairs- it's real lopi! I've dyed up the cream to various blues- teal, turquoise, sapphire, and navy. All look gorgeous but particularly the teal and turquoise. Anyway. Don't let me go on and on. hee hee!

I've heard that is the golden fleece of wool festivals- man I would love to go to that one. There is one in Eugene Oregon I might try and go to--and Sheep is Life is going on down on the Rez in early June- that's really the home of my heart, where the ladies taught me how to work with wool. The first weaving lesson, and I was so excited, and then we started out across the paddock to see the sheep--!! I knew I was going to clip some poor little lamb's carotid artery with those hand shears. Because you don't get to weave until you get your wool prepared, and your wool comes from taking care of the sheep! of course!

thank you, darling-

There is this show called Shear Madness on cable about a woman who sells niche fleeces.

trying to teach my son how to felt wool dryer balls and stabbed finger with felting needle. That was it for him! But he did agree to pose with the finished ball!

Do you crochet? I must have made a dozen or so last winter. Immensely satisfying 'cause I was eventually able to whip one up in a day...while reading at the same time!!

I do- I love the really thick chunky yarns for cowls. Last year I abandoned scarfs all together

yipee! it got there!
You might find a small piece of hay in the yarn- I tried to get it all, but the farmer reports that "Abe" who gave this wool liked to roll in the pasture. Also that the alpacas never rolled. Which sounds like a tattle-tale alpaca out in the pasture to me.
