A Taste of Erotica by A M Harding: Review and Interview

Andy is another one of those anonymous treasures that I met on Twitter. I’ve followed him for a long time and try to keep up with the stories he posts on his blog When he released A Taste of Erotica, it went straight on my TBR.
As well as being a prolific writer of good solid erotica, he is a charming man and absolutely worth the follow if you don’t already. Andy answered my ten questions... Find out more about the man in the suit below!

A Taste of Erotica is a collection of some of Andy’s best-loved stories. There is something for everyone in this treasury of seven hot, steamy tales.I often find erotica repetitive and struggle to stay interested if there isn’t a strong story behind it. That didn’t happen with Andy. I read A Taste of Erotica in one sitting and really enjoyed it.Andy’s ability to create vivid imagery is inspiring. As a writer, I feel like visualising and writing about sex from a variety of angles is where the fun really is. Sure, we have to cull a lot and be brutal with what makes an impact and what doesn’t but the nitty gritty is exactly why I both love to read and write erotic scenes. The fun of the writing really comes across with Andy; it’s clear he loves what he does and the reader takes on that love when turning the pages of A Taste of Erotica. The passion, anticipation and climax in each story are testament to that.
It’s difficult to review collections because I find myself wanting to review every piece. I urge you to download and read Andy’s work yourself so I will pick one story to elaborate on. Shelter on a Stormy night. It’s my favourite, and has been since Andy first posted it on his blogThe thing I like about this story, and most of Andy’s writing, is the lack of certain information. Yes, that is a positive. Because sometimes you don’t want to know if the couple are in a committed relationship, occasional lovers, or old friends. It is refreshing to be told a story and be able to put yourself, your current situation and your fantasy into it. Andy doesn’t just tell a story, he makes your imagination come alive.
The storm heightens the anticipation. I could hear the rain pounding on the windows. I could feel the warmth from the fire. I could see the couple by the amber light, making good use of the table.
Stimulating the senses beyond the reader thinking ‘this is hot, I need to squeeze my legs together’ is the difference, I think, between smut and good-quality erotica. Andy does a fabulous job of awakening those senses and solidifies him in my mind as a great writer whose work deserves to be read. I can’t wait to read what else Andy has to offer and little birdy told me this morning that there is more on the way. Trust me when I say you’re missing out if you haven’t read the work of the fabulous A M Harding.

Let's get personal...
1. Describe yourself in 3 words.Filthy minded Gentleman2. What would the title of your autobiography be?"Could have tried harder". That was the constant cry of every teacher at school and several managers since. An alternative title could be "Mr horizontal" as I've frequently been accused of being too laid back.3. Name one thing people would be surprised to know about you.Apart from the fact that I write erotica... I've rebuilt a car from the ground up, every nut and bolt.4. It's the weekend and you're celebrating with friends/family. What song do you put on to get the party started?Probably something by Green Day, most likely American Idiot.5. What is the one material possession you couldn't live without?A camera. I've taken a ridiculous number of photos over the years and I hardly ever go anywhere without a camera. Curiously though its normally anything but people that I take pictures of.6. True or false? All's fair in love and war.Definitely true.7. You're stranded on a desert island. What three things do you need to stay sane?A good toolkit has to be the first thing. If I have that I can make almost anything I need. Ideally a library but failing that a solar powered e-reader full of books I haven't read. Finally I think it would have to be an mp3 player full of music.8. Is the glass half empty or half full? The glass is clearly too big if its not full. But if I had to choose I'd say its half full.9. What is in it?By choice it would have to be either a proper old fashioned English ale or maybe a nice single malt (whisky).10. True or false? Man is an island. Definitely true. I've always been very self sufficient and independent. I've never needed to seek approval from everyone else for my own happiness. That's not to say I'm lonely, I'm just happy with my own company most of the time.
