ARE YOU CARB-ADDICTED? HERE’S HELP FOR THAT!


meme 3_15 MarchMost of us have been carb fiends at one point or another in our lives. And some of us have never NOT craved carbs. Carbs—short for carbohydrates—are macronutients that our body uses for fuel. The problem comes when we begin to crave simple carbs (think white flour foods, such as cookie, bread, pasta, etc.) in excess. Let’s face it, carbs can be incredibly addictive, making it difficult for people to stop at one cookie or a half-cup serving of pasta.


So how do you break your carb addiction? There actually are several ways, but one of the easiest in my experience is with a short, gentle detox. One that is whole food AND drink-based that is heavy on the nutrition education, so you know exactly why you are craving something, what to do about the craving, and how (and even why) to prevent it in the future.
