"Well, I'm back."
Wherein Jack Returns
I kind of feel like Sam in that quote. I am happy to be home, I have a kind of special fondness for my own bed. I like my bed. My room. My family. (No, I didn't name them last because I like them least.) My Kitty. (There, now they are not last. She is last on purpose though, because the first thing she did when I walked in the door was demand I feed her. Not even a "Hi! Glad you're home!" Just, "FEED ME NOW, SLAVE!") But, as nice as it is to be back home, in my own room and bed and house, I REALLY miss my friends. I haven't had so much fun in a very long time. And now I want to go around shouting, "I HAVE FRIENDS! Real, breathing, human friends that exist!" And they are cool friends. Not the sort who sit around and talk about the weather but sit around in the sun and read books and go out for coffee and walks and quote movies. (I never knew how much fun it could be, going out for coffee.)
Anyways, I had an amazing time and got pictures to share and everything. Just not tonight. We had to wake up at three in the morning so I could get to my return flight on time, and I am...naturally...tired. I was going to post tomorrow, but I don't know if I should attempt it. I have boring food shopping to do, and all of that other boring stuff that has to be done at the end of lovely holidays. But I did want to give an update on the short story contest.
I am closing the entries, thank you everyone who sent one in! I've had a chance to read a few of them and they were really good. I am hoping to finish the rest of them tomorrow and then pick and announce a winner on Friday.(I think Wednesday I will do a post full of pictures, before I get things back to normal around here.) I also need to start editing again this week and get caught up on Math, so I'm not sure I should attempt setting tomorrow as a deadline for me to finish the rest of the stories. Might hurt my brain, which I do very easily.
What else.....I have lots of reviews to do, some on some really good books I read recently, so you can watch for those. I have some movies as well, and a TV show. Exciting, right?
I was also contacted by some fellow Authors while I was gone, four of them. Asking me to read early drafts of their books. Three I will be doing early reviews for, and I will be taking part in some cover reveals. So there will be lots coming up, along with the usual character reveals from The Broken Blade books.
And there was probably a lot more, but I am falling asleep and I don't want to attempt and think anymore. That is asking too much from my sleep deprived brain. I might short fuse something. Good bye. Good night, sleep well, I'll most likely kill you in the morning."
ALLONS-Y!
If you don't know the quote then I disown you.
