I promised my results from BookBub promotion of I Bring the Fire.

I wound up at the same ranking as last time, #7 in the Free Amazon store, but I needed a few thousand more downloads to get there. This reflects the greater quantity of free books out there over 6 months ago.

Something I will note: I started much higher in the download department even though it was the end of the month, and last time my promo ran mid-month. Part of this was because I ran two promos on the 15th: KDP’s books spotlight post, and another promo with BookGorilla—they account for about 400 of the downloads.

But part of it is that I seem to be getting, after 2 years, word of mouth traction. (Check out the number of shares and likes here—none of the other books had that. Also on BB’s main FB post someone  commented on what a great book I Bring the Fire is—if you’re out there Becky Rinaldi—thank you!) Just prior to the BookBub promo I had 150 mysterious downloads in the U.S., and I’ve been getting spurts of downloads in the U.K. as well.

I made my money back much quicker this time—mostly because I had 2 more books for sale.

I am going to try and get “Warriors” and “The Slip” out before I advertise with the ‘Bub again…since they make you wait 6 months between promos, I guess that’s a given!
