A great view and a great deal!

If you’ve never checked out Travelzoo.com for lodging discounts and deals, you’re missing out. We’ve taken advantage of several of their promotions over the past couple of years and our travels to North Carolina last week included (at least in our opinion) one of their best.

We spent two nights of our vacation at The Waynesville Inn Golf Resort and Spa. It’s located about 30 minutes from Asheville and is surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains on one side and the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Balsam Mountains on the other side.

This Travelzoo deal included the two-night stay, as well as breakfast for both mornings.

The room was simple, but very clean, spacious and quiet. It also included a patio facing the beautiful golf course and mountains.

The breakfast wasn’t your standard breakfast either. It was a large buffet with all sorts of choices. We could also special order eggs, omelets and Belgian waffles. Our waitress, with her southern twang, was the best.

The entire stay there was wonderful and relaxing. And the total cost for everything, including taxes and an extra charge for mountain views (our option), came to only $140!
