Building A Brand
Most of you don't know this but Roxy Queen isn't my first pen name. I write under another name, mostly YA and contemporary romance...the kind of thing that I don't exactly want to merge with the more explicit material in these books. Managing two author names is a challenge. At first I did very little with Roxy. I had a book I wanted to release and I did so. That was about it. I opened a facebook page and goodreads so people could find me and review but I didn't exactly know how to juggle the dual roles so I sort of...didn't.
Fast forward a year and Roxy has two novellas and one book under her name Taboo and it's sequel Holiday Hijinks, plus Tamed and No Regrets. I'm participating in an anthology (Forbidden Fruit. Volume 1 is out now!! Go get it!). My novella will be part of Volume 2 due in a couple of weeks. And I'm halfway though full length novel that I'm very excited about.
*Sigh* Things are getting complicated. I spend more time on Roxy's page and pushing Roxy's books. I've even found a couple of beta readers (thank goodness). She's not a best seller (yet?) but I do enjoy writing her books. It's a nice break from the YA genre although I still write those as well.
What's my point? Book writing and publishing has always been an outside the box experience for me. I like to do and write what I want. I try to not take it too seriously. And if you're looking for more from Roxy, you'll be getting it soon.
