Where this book came from...
The Ugly Princess is the first in a planned series of books, "The Legend of the Winnowwood." As I developed the story for this first novel, I realized that this was a unique world that needed to be further expanded. The Ugly Princess will probably be book 4 in the series. Once you read the book, you'll see where I'll be headed when I go back: to Ursula and the intial battle with the witches. I'm working on the next book that will immediately follow the Ugly Princess right now. I can't even reveal the title as it could be perceived as a spoiler by a clever reader.
The Ugly Princess was originally written as a screenplay which won The Austin Film Festival's screenwriting competition. Initially, there was quite a bit of hoopla around it and the promise of a "sale" to Hollywood by my manager. Needless to say, that didn't happen and I became discouraged with that entire market. So, knowing this was a great story, I converted and expanded the script into this book. And now it is out in the world.
I'm so looking forward to sending out the 20 copies to the winners of my giveaway and to what they think of my lovely, magical Olive.

The Beginning...
So, my first step into the world of "authors" and I am intimidated. Will anyone like my book? Will people be mean and horrible and tear it apart? I've always considered books some of the best friends
So, my first step into the world of "authors" and I am intimidated. Will anyone like my book? Will people be mean and horrible and tear it apart? I've always considered books some of the best friends I ever had, especially when I was a young girl. They were the best escape, the most fun and amazing. I hope somehow my little book finds friends in this world. We shall see. I have so much to learn, but know it will be an adventure.
