eWeek published a cool slideshow articulating 10 big data trends for 2014.  What I like about the trends is that it digs into the operational realities and challenges of slicing and dicing structured and unstructured data.  Topics such as the benefits and challenges of SQL, authentication, data errors, Hadoop, and search as an unstructured query language.  Good stuff for those challenged with implementing enterprise-grade big data solutions.
