Backlist Spotlight: A Taste for a Mate
In the past few months I’ve found out that I have an amazing amount of new readers that I can’t wait to share more with. Some have found me through social media, some through bundles, others through search engines or conferences. I am blessed to have every one of you.
Since I first published in 2011, my backlist has grown considerably and some people are unsure of where to start reading. Also, sometimes, between newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, and other places, sometimes you STILL miss when I have a new release. I do my best to make sure it gets out there, but with so many books out there and with the fact we all have lives outside of reading (Shocking! I know), its easy to miss.
So for the next month or so I will be spotlighting each of my books with some fun trivia, buy links, FAQs, and other things that come to mind when I see one of my books. I encourage you to comment and talk to me about where you first heard of this particular book and if you’re read it. If you haven’t had a chance to read yet, well, what are you waiting for? Come on and check it out!
Today’s choice? A Taste for a Mate
Title: A Taste for a Mate
Series: Redwood Pack Book 2
Characters: Willow and Jasper
Awards: #1 on ARe, nominated for ebook of the year at AAD, winner of best erotic romance at the Sizzling Awards.
Best Memory: This was my first full length book I wrote in mind for publication. I remember trying to come up with ways to make Willow’s skills in the kitchen come out and my crit partners telling me to stop making them hungry. Apparently they were craving cinnamon rolls afterward!
Fun Fact: I dislike cinnamon and cinnamon rolls. Willow bakes them so I wouldn’t end up hungry and gaining 50 pounds writing the book. I also do not like omelets.
Where did the idea come from? This was the start to the overall Central Pack plot and introduced the rest of the siblings and talents of the Pack. With An Alpha’s Path, it was a taste of the world, but A Taste for a Mate was the start of the nitty gritty. I wanted a Pack of wolves that were led by brothers and had one sister who was just as strong–if not stronger–then the men. I also wanted my heroine to be strong and not know it. I named her Willow because she bends and goes though so much crap in this book, but she never breaks.

Excerpt:
She stood back and closed her eyes, conjuring the memory of her mystery man’s face. The image that filled her mind made her forget the lack of human contact. The thought of his deep, husky voice tickled her spine whenever he spoke. Green eyes caught her in his web with only a glance. She had fallen for a stranger and didn’t even know his name. He would come into her store every morning and order a cinnamon roll and coffee with only a few words. Then he would pay cash before lifting up the corner of his mouth in a semblance of a smile and walked out of her store. Was it strange she worried he’d keep walking and never return?
A bell’s tinkle pulled Willow from her reverie and self-pity. As she turned to greet her customer, her heart leapt to her throat. Him. Her mysterious fantasy. As she tried to regain her senses, she took all of him in. He had to be one of the tallest men she’d ever seen, easily over six and a half feet. The tight black T-shirt he wore hugged his biceps and cut into his muscular physique, while his broad shoulders stretched and strained the seams. His body tapered down to a narrow waist and hips as they met his thighs. His long legs were encased in worn jeans leading to work boots. Hmm, construction perhaps? She glanced back up his body to his striking face. He wasn’t beautiful, but he did have a face women dreamed about. A strong jaw and cheekbones gave him an aura of strength and protection. Hair was midnight black and long enough to brush his shoulders. However, today, a band held it back, showcasing his face more. He studied her, his green eyes calm and calculating. Willow let out a surprised gasp at the sexual heat radiating from him. Could she possibly be imagining things?
