Cover Selection

I’m going to publish an urban fantasy collection of short stories united by the same protagonists: a young witch Darya and her familiar, squirrel Beatrice. Together, they kick butt of the bad guys and help friends in need. The stories are lighthearted, with a pinch of humor.

I have 3 covers to choose from. Covers 1 and 2 only have slight differences in decorations. Cover 3 is absolutely different from the first two. I’d appreciate your opinions. Which one do you like best?

L.T. Getty For what it's worth - I find #3 the most interesting out I them. Let me know I that squirrel has anything to do with Ragnarok.

Olga Godim L.T., I don't even know who or what Ragnarok is. So obviously, the answer is No. What is Ragnarok?

message 3: by L.T. (new)

L.T. Getty Ratatoskr is a Mythical Norse squirrel that runs up and down the tree of life (Yggdrasill) to carry messages to other mythic beings. Ragnarok is the end of the world where the kingdom of the dead fights against the gods of Asgard - kind of in a nutshell here, but you get the idea. Only real magic squirrel I could think of off the top of my head.

Olga Godim Oh, thanks. No, my idea of a magic squirrel came from an entirely different source. A few years ago, by a fluke, I learned that squirrels are illegal to export to Canada. At least they were in 2007. I'm Canadian, so I started thinking what would happen if a young witch had to smuggle her squirrel familiar into Canada. That's how the first story in this collection appeared.

L.T. Getty I'm Canadian too! I hail from the prairies.

How would one export a squirrel? I mean, I assume the squirrels run over the unprotected border on a regular business. Ah well, interesting laws...

Olga Godim I mean as pets. You can bring a crocodile or a python but not a squirrel. :))

L.T. Getty Ah - seems silly to me. I think Bob Ross had a pet squirrel.
