I really don’t know how else to announce this other than scream it, because this was a huge accomplishment for me. Something I didn’t know if I’d ever do.
And I’m going to get a little emotional about this. Probably because it’s been an up and down month or so with everything.
I’ve hit bestsellers’ list under my pen name J. Lynn, for my New Adult and Adult stuff, which is also very awesome, and I’ve hit USA Today Bestseller’s list under my real name for two Young Adult books. But I’ve never hit New York Times for Young Adult or under my real name. It’s a hard list to crack. A very hard list. And I’ve come close, but it was always me like this to NYTimes YA list:
And NYTimes YA list was always like:
Until today.
Oh my God, pardon me while I SCREAM. White Hot Kiss, the book that sat for like TWO years while we decided what to do with it, hit the mother friggin’ New York Times’ Young Adult bestseller’s list at number 10.
Oh gosh, when I got the phone call, I was pretty emotional. That might sound cheesy, but this was… well, it’s a big deal for me. Big enough that the pizza I ordered earlier is cold, because I’ve been running around the house like an idiot since about 4pm.
So a big thank you to the team at Harlequin Teen — for Margo (my editor), Natashya (head editor in charge, and please God, I hope I spelled your name right), to T.S. and Annie, to my publicist Lisa Wray and Amy, and every person who got behind the series. Another big thank you my agent Kevan and to K.P. Simmons, and to everyone who worked on this book. Including Damaris for organizing an awesome release party, to Tom Barnes and Kevin Cristiano for building a great Dark Elements website.
And a HUGE thank you to all the readers. Guys, seriously. Ya’ll have made it so that I can continue doing what I love to do as long as I can do it. And none of any of this, not even being able to post funny gifs and sexy pictures of Theo James and have people even look at them on this blog, would be possible without you all.
So. THANK. YOU.
And of course, here’s Theo.
(He’s mad, because he wasn’t the first gif.)
