See this guy up there? You might have seen this pic bouncing around the dash at some point. That’s me, CK Burch. I’ve gotten a few new followers lately, so allow me to reintroduce myself. Also, for those who have been following for a while, this is a bit of a catch up. But before I hit the details, here’s an important bit of information: recently, I cut my hours back at my day job to put a focus on independent publishing, writing, and editing work. I’m working on several projects right now, one that is top secret, and one that I will be talking about here very soon. But for the most part, I’ve begun the small steps towards being a fully independent author, and that is a pretty scary concept for a father of two. There’s some celebration to surround this, but that’ll come in time. Any rebloggery or likes surrounding that are most welcome and appreciated, and keep yours eyes peeled here as there is quite a bit of news involving self-publishing going to be spilled here in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, let’s review me: as mentioned, my name is CK Burch. Maybe you started following me because I reblogged something cool and the rest of my feed looked worthwhile. Or maybe you started following because you stumbled over here from another source. Either way, welcome aboard. I don’t just Tumblr, and I don’t just write books. You can find me on Facebook, on Twitter, and you’re already here on Tumblr. I also have an author page over on Amazon, where you can discover the three novels I already have published: two sci-fi novels, and one horror book. Currently I’m working on two new novels, the first two entries in a historical, post-steampunk adventure series. I’m aiming to make them all-ages reads, but they’re probably best suited for teens and up. Dust McAlan and the Empire of the Serpent is the first entry, and that’s the one to be on the lookout for as far as news. I have plans. Big plans.
What else? Well, to come full circle, I’ve been working hard on making headway into being a totally independent artist for a while now, and I feel confident enough in biting the bullet and taking the first step. A lot of people have done a lot to help out with that over the past four years I’ve been writing/publishing, so thank you for that. Also, if anyone here either has and/or is interested in a self-published author circle, hit my ask box. Whether you’re an author, an indie game developer, or an indie musician, I’d like to share stories about your tactics, your experiences, and help scratch each others backs as much as possible. Also, if anyone is looking for an editor for a novel/short story/whatever, and you’re willing to negotiate compensation, the ask box is open for that as well. I’ve got three years experience now with editing not just my own work, but work for Thom Carnell and the Carpe Noctem collections. Not only has it been fun, but informational, and has helped me grow exponentially as an critical eye.
Anyways, that’s all, I’ll not take up any more real estate on your feed. Thank you all as always, and welcome again to new followers. I’ll make it worth your while to stick around.
