Basically, it’s a reminder to do things outside your routine, read a good book or otherwise expand your mind with visual stimuli, travel or experiences.
In October, I try to do something unusual for my birthday. Visit the art museum, check out a historic spot nearby (Hannibal, MO one year), or visit an exhibit.
This year, I went to DaVinci Machines II – The “Australian” Machines Exhibition. 
The exhibit had working models of DaVinci’s experiments made from his notes he left when he died. 45000 sheets of paper with notes and drawings.
The man known for painting the Mona Lisa also developed the world’s first tank.
He developed hydraulics that are still used in modern machines today. 
And his work with flight was extraordinary. 
Of course, I came away from the exhibit with a renewed sense of history and a story idea. 
That’s the best kind of filling the well day.
