Simonas I'm in the same situation and I know exactly what you mean. I've been slacking on the novel and now that my short story is done (I quite like it, but I've yet to find an editor who agrees), it has become very difficult to get back on track. I look at it, and well, in words of a fellow writer . . . 'wow, it sucks'. Granted, it has a few redeeming qualities. I've improved as a writer and an editor a great deal during these last couple months and I do know I can do a lot better with the story now. The hurdle is to fix the shit and set the right direction. So the consensus is this: I'm doing a heavy revision and I wish you luck on yours.
