FOREVER AND AGAIN
My heart aches as so many hearts ache for 10 year old Hailey Owens. I can’t imagine being the witnesses that saw her abducted and the feeling of helplessness that they had, the images that will be forever stuck in their heads. As for the family….I just cry. I just cry. I will not write further on this subject because I feel much too strongly about it.
The world is (insert angry expletive here) crazy
Devil’s found everywhere
There is no escaping
The evil we live amongst
I was reading to my girl
She is nine, and beautiful
When an amber alert rung out
On all the phones in the house
“What’s that?” she asked me
A girl was kidnapped
A girl your age, beautiful
They will find her quick though
That’s what alerts do
They find people like you
Taken or kidnapped
The whole community
Starts looking for you
I finished reading and tucked her in
Said good night, I love you
Forever and again
The next morning came
And she hopped into my bed
I hugged her and said
I love you
Forever and again
Morning starts
Breakfast made
I check the news
To see if she is home again
She isn’t; she is dead
“Mommy… why are you crying?”
Because sometimes my love
You don’t get the chance to say
Face to face
I love you
