I'm 13, Not 30!

Rosalind Wiseman answers a question from Elise, a girl who recently turned 13 years old.  In the days following her birthday, Elise's mom told her that she'd now be responsible for finding a job and paying for most (if not all) or her necessities.  Is her mom being unreasonable, or should a little more responsibility be expected in her teenage years?

Madeline Her mom is being unreasonable because Elise is only thirteen and the only job most thirteen year olds can get it baby sitting, which doesnt pay that much. Its also usally inconsistant and definatly not enough money to pay for most necessities. Her mom should wait tell Elise is at least 16 so she can get a resonable job thats consistant.
