All's Fair

So we survived the fires. A pretty stressful forty-eight hours, but like the Bard says, all's well that ends...with your house not burning down.  Everything's pretty much back to normal although I'm using this as an opportunity to sort through things. There's nothing like having half an hour to decide what of your worldly possessions you're going to save to help you realize you've got one heck of a lot of STUFF. Too much stuff.

Anyway, on the writing news front, I finally finished the rough d...

Lori K Wow, I'd have to move, Fire is a no go for me. Glad you didn't have any damage.
Bought Fair Game at Carina but their downloads aren't working! Agh!

Well, it it's any comfort, it seems to be right across the board. I don't think anyone is able to download the book.

Not sure why I think that should be a comfort! I'M not comforted.

Lori K Eh, working at home it's too tempting to just read instead of write about safety rules and MSDS sheets :)

So it's good for me that I couldn't download it! A pain for you tho having to hear about it from everyone. Have a great day!

Josh I really am sorry about the inconveniece -- well, in your case this is probably good because you should be working! *g*

But it's annoying all the same, I know.

I thought the download wouldn't be available until Tues, though you could purchase the book beforehand. I saw the download button disabled, but previous books I purchased were available to download, if I wanted to again.

Josh It shows a release date of August 2nd, but in fact the Canadian office is closed today -- so really I think August 3rd is the correct date.

I don't know how the kindle downloads are working -- maybe those are available now.

I think I need to learn to hold off announcing new releases until readers let me know they've bought the book. ;-P

Keren Barkan Hi Josh!

I bought Fair Game from Carina Press but their downloads aren't working for me... it keeps telling me that Adobe Reader version 8 or 9 is required, and I do have version 9! I use it to read PDF files all the time! but it still wouldn't let me download the book. What should I do?...

message 11: by Josh (new)

Josh Hi Keren,

Sorry you're having this problem. Did you try customer service?

All customer service questions related to purchasing from our ebook store should be sent to: customerservice@carinapress.com

I'll try them as well as see if we can't get an answer. I had someone else contact me a day ago regarding a problem with downloads too, so it's not just you.

OK, update - I'm nothing but persistent, so I downloaded Adobe Reader 9 all over again and found a way around the problem. YAY!!! I'll now get on to reading.
