What makes an author?

When I get the chance to visit Goodreads and see the lovely reviews people have left for WTMS and see people discussing it and know people have actually enjoyed it and thought about it, it makes me really happy. Although it also makes me wonder if I can really call myself an author, as it's the only thing I've actually managed to publish so far!

I'm certainly a writer, in that I write a lot. However most of my writing doesn't feel destined to see the light of day, as it's all unfinished. Sometimes I feel a little bit like I'm letting down the people who have been so kind to me by reading and discussing WTMS. And I have such a lot of plots and plans - a trilogy of supernatural novels spanning historical to modern, a swashbuckling Civil War adventure (every bit as terrible as that sounds, and proudly so ;) and a heap of short stories. But none of them finished and I never seem to find adequate time to work on them.

I suppose this rather rambling post is really a hello to new friends on here, an apology that I seem unable to get my writing act together more, and a sincere thank-you to those who've read my work so far, as little as it is.

Well - that was confessional! Now, back to the day job!
