“Too many glasses of wine

and suddenly you are someone

new. Someone who is able

to determine the difference

between dedication and just

another way to waste time.

You’ve been here before,

haven’t you? Caught between

the choice to stay and the

decision to leave it all

behind, and to start fresh.

You think about it everyday,

and I know that because

I see the daydreams in

your eyes, of running from

your problems and into

the arms of someone who

asks before touching you.

I’m sorry that it’s come

to this. That you can’t even

leave your home without

wondering about what

would happen if you

didn’t come back. They

should have told you

that happiness doesn’t

come in people, but in

your own mind. Maybe if

they would have prepared

you for the reality of life,

you wouldn’t be struggling

as much. And maybe if they

would have told you the secrets

that they have kept from you

for so long, you would be

able to be happy,

all on your own.”
