8-Bit Doctor Who Theme!

For those of us of a certain age, we’ve grown up with technology evolving and changing right along side us. Many of us grew up in the age when arcade games made the leap from big machines that could only run one game to consoles that could play many different games, from PacMan, Donkey Kong, and Space Invaders, to Super Mario Brothers and Duke Nukem.

To us, the 8-bit sound files of the ghosts catching PacMan and the Super Mario Brothers theme song are familiar sounds, ones that bring back childhood memories of our favourite games and times spent with our friends trying to beat each other’s game scores and the excitement that came when a new game had graphics better than any we’d ever seen before.

As happens with every generation, we reach a point when our childhoods are distant memories and we like to take nostalgic look back into our past. And as happens, newer generations look back at what was part of our childhoods and become enamoured of them, and the old becomes new again.

With that, I give you the Doctor Who theme song, 8-bit style.

(With thanks to Joe)
