Thanks Amazon and other 3rd party vendors
Amazon has been VERY good to me (so have the other vendors I’m with). They have stood behind me as an indie author and allowed me the freedom to reach a wider audience. I’m incredibly thankful for them. They are one of my largest vendors and I honestly have nothing bad to say about them. Wait–I do a lot of shopping through them so I’m thinking my bank account would like it if I did slow that down. LOL
Seriously, they’ve opened the doors to foreign markets for me too which is huge. I really cannot state just how big this was for indie authors.
I’ve been doing this ten years. I can remember when your only option for sales of ebooks was directly through the publisher and that was all. When you’re talking a small press, that reach is very small compared (very small) to all the readers in the world.
Things have changed–doors have opened for authors AND readers.
I’ve been with a lot of publishers and vendors–some good, some not so good–I’m not going to bash any of them. I’m just going to say thank Amazon, BN, iTunes, ARE Romance and Smashwords for allowing me to reach a wider audience, for giving me the chance to reach readers in an affordable way and to do so quickly and most of the time with ease.
