I Really Want to Know

Let’s talk reading habits.  When do you read? How long do you read?  Are you a chapter at a time reader?  Or the type that gobbles up a book in one sitting?  I would love to be gobbler, but writing makes me a chapter at time reader, unless, I stumble across a book that just grabs me by the neck and won’t turn me loose. And I have to admit, I have stayed up all night reading. Have you ever stayed up way past your bedtime reading?  (Actually, I know some of you have because you’ve told me in emails.) So, where do you like to read?  I usually read in bed.  Or sometimes I read on the sofa.  I’m getting a new sofa for my new office and I want a comfy one so I can take breaks and read for a bit. You see when I’m writing, I don’t get a lot of time to read, so maybe I can work more in if I can stretch out on my comfy sofa and read for a few minutes during breaks.  However, almost every night I do pick up a book and read for a bit until I can’t keep my eyes open anymore.  And whenever I’m on vacation, my goal is always to read a book.

IMG950365 - CopyDo you read at work? During your lunch break or do you sneak in reading when you should be working? Shhh…I won’t tell! We’ve all done it.

Do you read in school? And here, I don’t mean English assigned reading or math books. I’m talking about outside reading. Do you bring books to school to read during your breaks? During class? Well, my daughter is a teacher and lately she’s caught several students reading in class. She always gets on them, but the other day, she took this photo of what her student was reading: Taken at Dusk. :)

Luly I always have a book I'm working on. I can read almost anywhere, and ignore the world, but I prefer to read on my couch with my feet up. I love to eat Doritos while I read.

Cassidy Crawford I always have a book at school. I read usually around 2 books a week but I also read peoples stories or books online. I don't read during lunch but I do read whenever I can during school. This week coming I'm waiting for your third and fourth book to come into my library. I just finished your first and second book this week.

Jason i try to always have a booking going as well. right now i have 3 going and need to finish them soon! i do read during breaks and lunch, and have on many occasions stayed up WAY past my bedtime. like you CC, I have stayed up all night before b/c a book grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go! i tend to be more of a gobbler when i read, but the location can be anywhere. if you've got a beautiful day, nothing beats the porch i say.

Lisa Well my favourite place to read is in my comfy bed,, but I ALWAYS carry a book in my bag so that I can read in the train, I am even so bad that I read while I am walking and I am now so good at it that I don't even bump into people or things anymore :)
Due to having 2 young children myself my reading time is now limited to evenings so yeah I have stayed up several nights long to read books...who needs sleep anyway haha

Jenny Christine I read when i can, on the bus to work, lunch, bus home, in bed. I always have books with me.

Barbara Uckerman I read at night when the kids and husband have gone to bed. I'm a night owl and have been known to read til the sun comes up.(Kind of crabby the next day, but we have coffee!)Anyway, on the weekends I read on Saturdays more than any other day as it is laundry day and I have to wait for the dryer!
