What would you say is your favorite quote? Or a quote that u can really relate to, like it explains your life or view of the world?
There are a lot of quotes that do that. So here are a few at the top of my head.
Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. An intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you’ll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way. - Janet Fitch, White Oleander
Sometimes skulls are thick. Sometimes hearts are vacant. Sometimes words don’t work. - James Frey, A Million Little Pieces
Poetry is what happens when nothing else can. - Charles Bukowski
My alone feels so good, I’ll only have you if you’re sweeter than my solitude. - Warsan Shire
We knew, finally, that the girls were really women in disguise, that they understood love and even death, and that our job was merely to create the noise that seemed to fascinate them. - Jeffrey Eugenides, The Virgin Suicides
But I know what it’s like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can’t. You hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside. - Susanna Kaysen, Girl, Interrupted
How right that the body changed over time, becoming a gallery of scars, a canvas of experience, a testament to life and one’s capacity to endure it. - Janet Fitch
You’re in a car with a beautiful boy, and he won’t tell you that he loves you, but he loves you. And you feel like you’ve done something terrible, like robbed a liquor store, or swallowed pills, or shoveled yourself a grave in the dirt, and you’re tired. You’re in a car with a beautiful boy, and you’re trying not to tell him that you love him, and you’re trying to choke down the feeling, and you’re trembling, but he reaches over and he touches you, like a prayer for which no words exist, and you feel your heart taking root in your body, like you’ve discovered something you didn’t even have a name for. - Richard Siken
Heaven is writing and Hell is writers block. - Robert Miltner
I left walking backwards so I wouldn’t miss a moment of her. - Janet Fitch, White Oleander
