The Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy, has now been added to the burgeoning guest list of Planet Comicon, now one of the biggest comic book and science fiction conventions in the USA’s Midwest. McCoy – the true star of Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson’s new Hobbit trilogy – will be making his first-ever appearance at the con, and indeed is one of the few Who-related guests to ever appear at Planet Comicon.
The convention takes place March 14-16 at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Missouri. This year’s con is being called the “Trektacular” because William Shatner (yes!) and nearly the whole cast of The Next Generation (except for that Patrick Stewart guy) will be appearing. Maybe this will finally lead to the Doctor Who-Star Trek crossover that everyone’s hoped for? Or at least an awesome YouTube video of the Seventh Doctor and Captain Kirk sharing a hug?
Other guests include: Jewel Staite of Joss Whedon’s Firefly, The Six Million Dollar Man‘s Lee Majors, Margot Kidder of the original Superman films, Chad Coleman of The Walking Dead, and at least one Power Ranger!
Tickets, directions, and tons of guest information are available on the Planet Comicon website!
Kasterborites, if you could pick one Star Trek Captain and one Doctor to team up to save the universe together (or awkwardly hug at a sci-fi convention?), which ones would you choose?
