
A Babylonian Almanac
The Middle Babylonian Almanac above lists the 12 months of the Babylonian calendar on black stone. Each month is followed by a list of propitious days, or days on which the outcome of activities would be favourable. At the top of this stone tablet, which is about 17cm in height, is a loop handle in the shape of a crouching lion. (Source.)
