It is not Over
Gen 37:35 And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him. 36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh’s, and captain of the guard.
It is not over, my sister. Be strong, my friend. Your pains are baked in the oven of lies, your comforters are liars … and all the conclusions of men concerning your situation are vain and untrue. All you have thought and concluded is untrue. It is not over.
Jacob will not be comforted, nor could the perpetrators of evil repent. The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel, saith the Lord … all their teachings and sermons to encourage you are wrong. The only truth for you today is that “It is not over.” God ignores all your cries and does not reckon with your wrong professions for God knows you are a man … and His plans are of Him … they were never your plans … all your plans and professions are best fitted for shredding and tossed into the trash bin.
Today, be encouraged – even in your pains. I will not ask you to change your conclusions because they are all you can see. Rather, if you are alive to be reading this devotional, then there is great hope. There is hope because of three main reasons.
First, unknown to you, there is a lot that happened, that happens and that will happen that is not for your sorrow but to give you the good end that is expected. Second, amongst your comforters are the traitors that do not have your peace of mind and joy as their priority. Rather, they wait to inherit your substance. But God has reserved your dream in a place that is safe. Third, your tears are for your past wicked ways … the tears you should have cried when you deceived your father and saw his grief, But you will go down into the grave rejoicing and not in mourning.
You may be reading this devotional and wonder how could this be? A huge stone is put to cover the grave of Christ to ensure the story ended in His crucifixion … but when God says a new chapter is about to open and it appears to us as though it has all ended in grief … be assured that “It is not over.” Indeed be not dismayed, a new beginning is about to commence. A new phase is about to start. Your troubles have a life span … a short life span.
Song.
The race is not to the swift or strong, But to the few who fight the wrong
with revelation from His Word, Reject Baal, and follow on to know the Lord
( Leonard Ravenhill)
Prayer: O Lord, turn all my days of mourning to days of rejoicing and mirth. Amen
