Tasting Magnolia Bakery’s Savoury Menu

Last week a salted caramel and chocolate chip stack of cookies from Magnolia Bakery arrived at home in the form of an invitation. The occasion was a ladies brunch celebrating the launch of Magnolia Bakery’s new savoury menu. 

The salted caramel chocolate chip cookies, as you can see, were lip-smacking-good!

On the day of the ladies brunch I arrived at Magnolia bakery to find those gorgeous flower arrangements placed on the tables, waiting for the guests to arrive and savour the new dishes. How lovely!

We started with salads and there were two to try that day: Cesar’s salad and sundered tomato with cheese salad.

Next came the egg dish, a baked egg in tomato and cheese sauce. Even though I only ever eat scrambled and sometimes omelettes I couldn’t resist taking one very good bite of that dish.

Next was an array of pastas parading on the table!

Not in the mood for pasta? There are plenty of sandwiches to choose from!

Grilled cheese sandwich, yum! The toast was a bit too thick for my liking though.

As we sampled the dishes and enjoyed the chatter between the ladies on the table, time flew by fast! Next thing we knew it was time for dessert and dessert at Magnolia meant: a dessert buffet! A gorgeous one as well, colourful and sugary with lots of things to choose from and not enough stomach space.

Choosing something for dessert was a very tough thing to do, for I personally wanted to devour all things sweets that were on display!

We didn’t go home empty handed either, each lady got a bag chockfull of desserts to go home with!
