Interview with Erotic Romance Author MK Schiller Plus a Contest
This week at Friends on Friday I’m welcoming MK Schiller to the blog. She was sweet enough to sit down for an interview and she’s sharing with us about her new release “.”
Interview
What was the inspiration behind this book?
I wanted to write a story about that first childhood love and how special it is. I also wanted to add elements of suspense and do it from a mostly male POV.
Which character spoke to you the most while you were writing this book or which was you favorite?
Definitely Caleb since the story is from his prospective. The reader learns of Sylvie through Caleb’s eyes.
When did you know you wanted to be a writer?
Since I was a little girl making up different scenarios and alternate endings to my favorite television shows….and this was way before fan fiction became a real thing.
Tell us about your favorite atmosphere for writing.
My huge but messy desk from Ikea, a mug of piping hot caffeine, background music, staring at dual monitors.
Tell us about your “discipline” for writing. Are you consistent – writing at the same time every day or do you write in spurts and stops? How do you balance writing with the rest of your life?
I write in spurts. I have another life where I work full time and have two kids so I can’t really stick to a schedule, but when the mood strikes me (which is often) I can write for hours.
Do you have a project in the works that you’d like to tell us about?
I have a novella, Lucky Fall, coming out in February with Totally Bound. It’s an older woman/ younger man story. Younger man is also a billionaire. I loved writing it and there are some other great stories in the collection as well.
How do you make yourself stand out in a competitive market?
It’s hard, but I write what makes me laugh – the everyday funny with the unique twist of sultry.
What do you do when you’re not writing?
I work, read, hang out with my kids – kids are great fodder for every writer.
What are you reading right now?
I’m reading Gabriel’s Redemption by Syvain Reynard.
What is your favorite color?
Green – love all the shades of green.
Favorite food?
Chocolate in any form.
If you had to be stranded on a desert island – who is the one person you’d like to be stranded with, and what one luxury item would you like to have with you?
My daughter because she makes me laugh, but then again it would mean she was stranded too so that would suck. I’d definitely have my e-reader and some sort of electricity source so I can obviously keep it charged.
If you could be any animal what would it be? Why?
An elephant – big and beautiful is the way to go.
What is something readers would be surprised to learn about you?
I was born in India
I love Kid Rock
I cry when I see a sad commercial
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Thank you for having me and asking such great questions. I hope you’ll check out my book, and write to me!

The worst part of being a kid was that you never knew how good you had it until it was too late.
Childhood was simple. My parents told me it was because I didn’t have bills to pay or mouths to feed, but it was more than that. It was because nothing was planned. When you didn’t plan for it, you didn’t worry about the consequences. They just happened naturally without the coercion, manipulation or mindfuck games that came with becoming an adult.
I never planned for Sylvie Cranston to be my best friend. I never expected her to be the muse in all my dreams, or the girl who later haunted my nightmares. I certainly never planned to fall in love with her, but that was exactly what happened.
Everyone told me I needed to move on. That was like asking me to pierce my own flesh and crush my empty, beating heart. They wanted me to toss it away and continue to breathe. How could a man function without his heart?

About the Author
MK Schiller is a hopeless romantic in a hopelessly pragmatic world. Writing is her passion, but with a full time life and two busy teenagers, it proves difficult. But in the quiet dark of night, she sits by the warm glow of a computer monitor, and attempt to conjure up passionate heartwarming stories with plenty of humor.
She started imagining stories in her head at a very young age. In fact, friends started making requests for stories where they were featured as the heroine and the object of their affection was the hero. You’ve heard of fan fiction… this was friend fiction.
Even with that, it took many years to realize her dream. She hopes you enjoy my stories and always find The Happily Ever After in every endeavor.
