Interview with Stina Lindenblatt – plus a GIVEAWAY!
I’m really excited to host author Stina Lindenblatt on my blog today to talk about her debut New Adult romance, TELL ME WHEN, out now from Carina Press.
Stina and I share the same agent, but we became friends before I ever signed with Marisa Corvisiero. I love Stina because she’s smart, honest, loyal and a talented writer. I’m super happy for her because she had a fantastic release day on Monday.
In author-speak, release day is our “book birthday” so I asked Stina some questions about her very first book birthday.
How did you sleep the night before release day?
Because I wake up at 5 a.m every morning, I easily fall asleep at night as soon as I close my eyes. So the night before my release day I had no trouble falling asleep. Unfortunately I woke up at 3 a.m, like a kid waiting for Santa.
Tell us what your release day was like. What did you do?
Like I mentioned above, I woke up at 3 a.m, but I didn’t rush out of bed. I tried to go back to sleep and gave up after an hour. So I read until 5 a.m. Except I was reading the NA book ALL I EVER WANTED by Rhonda Helms, Lexi Ryan, Marilyn Brant, and Caisey Quinn and didn’t want to stop reading. I figured nothing was really going on yet for my release date, so I kept reading. And reading. And reading.
An hour later I decided to check out my Twitter interaction feed. I spent the next eight hours (minus 2 hours for lunch with my hubby) going through all the tweets. Between my blog tour, release day blitz, giveaways, the wonderful efforts of author Rachel Harris’s street team, and all my amazing friends (including some equally amazing bestselling authors), my Twitter feed exploded. Yeah, maybe staying in bed for so long to read wasn’t such a great idea.
Advice to other writers on their release day?
Make sure your release day is free of appointments (other than maybe lunch with a loved one). Don’t expect to write…other than comments on Twitter and Facebook. That’s all you’ll have time for. If you’re the kind of person who freaks out at reviews, don’t read them.
The most import advice I can give is ENJOY YOUR RELEASE DAY. You’ve earned it!
What do you want people to feel after they finish TELL ME WHEN?
Hope. Okay, and maybe I want them to feel a little freaked out over what happened to Amber when she was in high school. Then people will hopefully take the necessary pre-cautions to keep it from happening to them. It was part of my reasons for writing TELL ME WHEN.
Thanks for having me, Megan. I can’t wait for your release day so you can experience the excitement I did with mine.
See? Isn’t she sweet? Now, here are the deets on TELL ME WHEN.
Amber Scott should be enjoying life as a college freshman. She should be pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She should be working hard to make sense of her precalculus math class.
She shouldn’t be waking up her college roommate with screaming nightmares. She shouldn’t be flashing back, reliving the three weeks of hell she barely survived last year. And she definitely shouldn’t be spending time with sexy player Marcus Reid.
But engineering student Marcus is the only one keeping Amber from failing her math course, so she grudgingly lets him into her life. She never expects the king of hookups will share his painful past. Or that she’ll tell him her secrets in return, opening up and trusting him in a way she thought she’d never be able to again.
When their fragile future together is threatened by a stalker Amber thought was locked away for good, Marcus is determined to protect her–and Amber is determined to protect Marcus…even if that means pushing him away.
Where to buy (only available in ebook):
AND, I’m giving away a copy of TELL ME WHEN, five bookmarks supplied by Stina, and because she loved ALL I EVER WANTED (a New Adult romance anthology), I’m giving away a bonus copy of that too!
