The drugs won’t help you
forget about the way
that she tastes when
her body is against
your lips.

You can inhale the toxic,
but breathing it out
won’t always mean
that you are breathing
her out of your system.

She lingers within
every mouth that she
has pressed herself
against; you won’t
be able to get her out.

You might as well
embrace everything
that you remember
about her, because
she’s not going anywhere.
