Connecting with the Community

Connecting with the Community has begun. The first event, “The Impact of Our Musical Roots, from Negro Spirituals to Gospel to Soul to Motown” was held on January 18th. These programs are put on by Daytona Beach Regional Library at City Island, and sponsored by its Friends of the LIbrary through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council. Note that there is a presentation about Zora Neale Hurston, Chris Lamb is returning to discuss his book Blackout, and Pulitzer Prize Winner Gilbert King is returning to talk about Devil in the Grove. I attach the full flyer.
