What makes you smile?

Have you ever known someone who just seems to look for opportunities to smile? I love being with people like that, don't you?

Here are five things that make me smile!

And get ready, I'm going to ask you to share, too. Not to worry, I'll make it worth your while. Consider the picture to the above right a hint...

Comfort food. Specifically, make-ahead french toast.
Comfort food to the max. Sooo delicious, and easy!
Pictures of pigs. I know, I know, but they're just so cute. Saw this at Kirkland's the other day.

My daughter shared this with me recently. Adorable!
Jack. He knows just how to make me smile. (Veronica & Patti Jo, this is for you!)
Being finished with another book. Finally, another story is ready to go to press. A Beauty So Rare has been one beaut of a book to write––all 172,000+ words of it. It's the second Belmont Mansion novel chock-full of history and romance, and I'm beyond excited to share Marcus's and Eleanor's journey with you. And more from Adelicia Acklen, too, the Mistress of Belmont Mansion.

Julia Ok, Five things that make me smile...
1. The innocent ramblings from my 3yr old daughter reporting the happenings of her day.
2. Watching my 10 month old son do just about anything.
3. My husband completing any household chore or errand without me asking.
4. The random inner thought that I must write down because it would be a great sentence in a chapter/story.
5. The realization that something I have been praying about has come to fruition.

Tamera Alexander LOVE that, Julia. Thanks so much for sharing!

Bonnie There are so many things that can tickle a funny bone, by five of mine are:
1. Seeing my daughters up in front of church, singing with the worship team. (This admittedly has also brought a tear or two ;-)
2. Listening to the 'logic' of one of my teens (I have four now so take your pick) while they explain/ plead their case to be aloud to do something. - I did most of my homework for tomorrow... My room isn't that messy, you just can't walk in there...
3. Coming home from work to find my husband already has dinner ready.
4. The surprised looks I get when I open my mouth and Spanish flows (I'm blonde w/ blue eyes - all my mother's Norwegian genes mixed with my father's English) NO one would guess that I married a Latin 20 years ago and haven't spoken more than a phrase or two to him in English in all that time.
5. How adorable my 17 year old son looks holding our friend's baby. He's gonna be an excellent daddy someday. (The others do a great job too.)
6 (Just because I'm on a roll) When my 13 year old calls out "Hi Mom" without an ounce of embarrassment in the crowded hallways at the school where he attends and I work. ;-)

Bonnie Thank you, Tamara, for giving us an opportunity to think of the good today. Writing from Chicago-land with temperatures that are common for the North Pole, it's good to reflect on the fun and happy things in our lives.

Tamera Alexander Bless you, Bonnie, for sharing. I'm asking God to send warmth your way in ways only He can do. Much love, friend.

Bonnie God's good. Heat will come in time. Then in July and August half of Chicago will be moaning about how they wished it would cool off! Just one more thing to cause a smile.
