Description for THE BEAUTIFUL ASHES

With the end of Cat and Bones's storyline almost here, readers have been asking me, "What's next?" Well, a few things. Vlad and Leila will get their third novel, of course, but I don't have a title or release date yet. As soon as I do, I'll share it with you. Another Night Huntress World character will get a book, and before Ian fans flood the comment section, it's a "maybe" as to whether it will feature him :). And, as many of you know, I have a new, New Adult (meaning the protagonists are college-aged) paranormal romance series releasing this fall. It's called The Beautiful Ashes, and it's book one in the Broken Destiny series. You may have heard me mention it under the old series title of Realmwalker, but as you can see, the series title has changed. The description released on a couple retail sites in December, but because of being buried under deadline as well as release stuff for Up From The Grave, I hadn't posted it on my website yet. Well, wait no more, because here it is:

In a world of shadows, anything is possible. Except escaping your fate.

Ever since she was a child, Ivy has been gripped by visions of strange realms just beyond her own. But when her sister goes missing, Ivy discovers the truth is far worse—her hallucinations are real, and her sister is trapped in a parallel realm. The one person who believes her is the dangerously attractive guy who's bound by an ancient legacy to betray her.

Adrian might have turned his back on those who raised him, but that doesn't mean he can change his fate…no matter how strong a pull he feels toward Ivy. Together they search for the powerful relic that can save her sister, but Adrian knows what Ivy doesn't: that every step brings Ivy closer to the truth about her own destiny, and a war that could doom the world. Sooner or later, it will be Ivy on one side, Adrian on the other, and nothing but ashes in between…

As I mentioned above, while it's NA, this is a paranormal romance series because, well, I can't seem to write anything else :). No vampires in this book, but I'm showcasing my version of demons, angels (called Archons) and minions, as well as the clash of two famous historical lines. I'm so excited about The Beautiful Ashes because Adrian and Ivy's story has been percolating in my mind since 2007. Yes, sometimes authors have to wait that long to share their stories with readers. The Beautiful Ashes is releasing in trade paperback (and ebook and audio, of course) on August 26th. If you're interested, here are some pre-order links: Amazon, BooksAMillion, Powells (more retailers coming soon).

And now, I need to get back to finishing it. Hope you're having a lovely week, everyone!

Ashley Very excited to read the new series! I've been rereading the entire Night Huntress world in preparation for Up From the Grave and I find myself hoping that Ian won't be the only one with a spinoff novel. I'd love to see Annette, Juan, Cooper, Tate, Dave, hell even Justina get their happily ever after. And of course Vlad and Leila :).

message 15: by Michelle (new)

Michelle What I would give for Ms Jeaniene to write a book about Bones during the time he was away from Cat. It would be better to start before they met ending when he finally sees her at the wedding. OMG THAT WOULD BE GREAT

Erinsie Ummm, next directions in the Cat & Bones World? So many interesting possibilities!!! Ian would be interesting but not sure I want him reformed. He's a little too sleazy. I think I noticed foreshadowing a future storyline with Gretchen and Maximus (Twice Tempted). Maximum is noble and boring like Spade so I don't think it would be a strong choice for a whole book but maybe a good novella. Tate might be a good choice. Or COOPER. Yum. But why not follow a strong woman instead!!? Like Veritas? She's got tons of kick-ass going on.
