Vampire Academy Movie

I have to admit, when I first heard the "powers that be" in the movie world were going to turn one of my all time favorite books into a major motion picture I could barely contain my excitement. However, after the rash of amazing books that have been horribly adapted for big screen magic, I'm really afraid to go see Vampire Academy. 
I love this series by Richelle Mead and couldn't bear to see it mangled. As a fan, it would absolutely destroy the mental image of the characters that I have grown so attached to and love and it would piss me off!
So, a friend of mine is going to see it before me, since they moved the release date up about a week to February 7, 2014. My hubby and I are going to see it for Valentine's Day, but only if my friend says it's up to par.
