Normal Service Will Be Resumed As Soon As Possible

A few years ago, the BBC World Service did an adaptation of my novel Anansi Boys. I'm a big fan of radio drama, and a huge admirer of the director who did it, but things went a bit wrong. The biggest thing that went wrong went wrong right at the beginning, when the World Service, coping as best they could with budget cutbacks and less broadcasting time for drama, decided it would have to be an hour-long adaptation. And bad things happen when novels get cut down to an hour. So d...

Micki I can't even imagine trying to make that whole book into an hour long ANYthing! Why bother?! The book was fantastic and I'm happy to say, introduced me to the slightly twisted world that Gaiman frequents, and I continue to enjoy visiting!

Myra I loved Anansi Boys and am really looking forward to the film version. As for Doctor Who, Yay, Neil! With the finale of series 5 airing on BBC America this past Saturday, I'm now going to have to count the days until series 6! Can't wait to see what "birds and mermaids" you create for us.

Fiona Lapham Since first listening to the Anansi boys as an audiobook over a year ago I havn't been able to get it out of my head. I am extreamly excited to hear that you are making it into a film and even more excite to hear that you are writing the screenplay. Congratulations!

Aranthe Am I the only one hoping Lenny Henry is up for Anansi Boys?

Re: Dr. Who, I may have to watch it again, if only for this ep. After all, if "Day of the Dead" could make a B5 season 5 ep worth watching, perhaps this will do the same for the new Who. (Don't mind me. I'm a grumpy classic Whovian who lost interest in the new series after the edgier Eccleston left.)

Anyway, great news! Now, when did you say Neverwhere and Graveyard will be ready?
