Jo Nesbø is set to retell Macbeth, one of Shakespeare’s darkest and most powerful tragedies, for the Hogarth Shakespeare series, which from 2016 will see writers including Margaret Atwood, Jeanette Winterson and Howard Jacobson retelling plays from Shakespeare’s canon.
Having read all but two of Nesbo's Harry Hole books [I've only Police and one earlier book, soon to be released in the USA] left], I think the Hogarth group has chosen the perfect author to tackle Macbeth for the new millennium. I wonder if he'll be writing in English or Norwegian?
