A Bit of Background by Cardeno C.

Happy Monday! For today's blog post I want to share a link to a review site I really enjoy and to a review that made me all warm and fuzzy with memories.

Rainbow Book Reviews is a great site with professional, detailed, and never snarky book reviews. I love going there when I'm looking for a new book to read. This week one of their reviewers (Christy Duke) posted a really nice review of Where He Ends and I Begin and it got me thinking about writing and
publishing that book.

Where He Ends was the first book I wrote. For years that story floated in my head but I never considered the possibility that anyone else would be interested or that I could write it down in a way that would make anyone want to read it. I didn't know there were gay romance novels at that time but I found a site online that published free gay romance stories so I thought it was worth a shot.

I wrote the beginning of the story, posted it online, and headed for a weekend in Vegas with friends. I thought that would be the end of it. I wrote something, sent it into the mysterious internet, and that would be the end of that. Except it wasn't.

My first big writing memory is standing in a casino in Las Vegas, close to the tables but on the part of the carpet that looks like a sidewalk because you can't look at your phone right next to a table. Anyway, I pulled up my phone because it was beeping and there were emails. I got emails from people who read my story! I couldn't believe it. My smile was so huge, my friends noticed and asked what I was looking at on my phone.

It was a happy, wonderful, exciting moment and when I got home, I wrote the rest of that story down. Then after that, there was another book. And then readers suggested I try my hand at publishing with Dreamspinner Press and once again, I thought it wouldn't go anywhere but why not?

Anyway, you know how the story ends. But it began with Where He Ends and I Begin and readers who were nice enough to take the time to write and support me.

Have a wonderful week.

Chutchy Ya did good, CC! The entire series was brilliant and I loved them all, but the first one took the cake. The title so aptly fit the story. They were one...
