When I first started on the journey of becoming a romance author, I thought all I had to do was write a book and BAM! It would get published. Not because I thought I was a literary genius but because I figured it would be easy to land an agent. Turns out, landing an agent was tough.
So I changed courses and decided to go the self-published route, which I dare say, is a gamble. You need an editor, formatter, cover artist and lastly, a PR agency to promote your book. This all takes more money than you may make back in profits the first month selling your e-book (most likely). Even so, these people take your e-book to new heights and let you show off your best work. Choosing the right person or company is another story, but not to fret! I have compiled a list of helpful links. Act One is about editing. Below you will find articles to guide you toward hiring the right person. Good luck! And stay tuned for Act Two: formatting.
