A legend

"Other mothers give birth to children. Mine gave birth to a legend," announces my twelve year old and watches my face carefully for a reaction.

I am surprised, tickled and amused. But I do not miss a beat. In a deadpan voice I retort, "The unwritten law states that legends have to cuddle up and hug their mothers for at least ten minutes."

"Ask your other legend."

What can I say? I am still grinning. And I told her I would blog about this and she shrugged and ran out to play. :)
