Random acts of kindness

I am sorry I did not get to post yesterday, but 2014 got off to a bumpy start with no phone, cable, or internet service. Naturally I snatched up my cell phone, only to discover that it was not working, too. My neighbors weren’t home, so it was out into the cold in search of a public phone, which is only slightly less elusive than the unicorn. Fortunately, the kind souls at my local WaWa store allowed me to use their phone to call my server. It was a local outage and eventually my contact with the real world was resumed, but for hours, I felt as if I were living like a medieval recluse.
Many of you are, like me, in the path of that nasty snowstorm plowing east, along with a blast of bitterly cold air. So stay safe and warm, and may none of my fellow football fans lose power during the playoff games.
Now, to get the new year off to a warm and cozy start, here is a story about random acts of kindness; we can never have too much of those, right? http://www.care2.com/causes/10-random...
PS Still time to post a comment on my current blog to be eligible for the free, signed copy of Priscilla Royal’s newest medieval mystery, Covenant with Hell.

Rebecca I loved reading this and it takes so little to make someone's day. It is the little things that matter and it doesn't have to cost you a cent. If you compliment a person on their hair style, clothes, the colours they're wearing etc; the smile you get back is worth it.

I did note at my local bakery at Christmas where the assistants all said 'Merry Christmas' and customers simply snatched up their change, grabbed their bread and took off without any regard to the shop assistant. How sad. Sometimes the world is in too much of a hurry.

Just a few kind words can really make someone's day.

I've been watching the weather reporting on TV concerning the U.S.A and thought WOW-I always wanted to feel snow...but I wouldn't like 6ft of it outside my front door lol. I hope things calm down soon:).

P.R. Campion The speed at which the world moves today seems too slow at times to be practical, until somebody slams on the brakes. It's always nice to take a short break (short being the key word) and take a breath. Recognize that constantly being "connected" sometimes means we are "disconnected" from actual people. Take it as the New Year giving you a resolution - disconnect every now and then to keep in touch. Happy New Year Sharon!
