2013: A Year of Reflection
It’s been such an amazing year, I somehow don’t really believe what happened. So many good things happened to me this year it almost eclipsed all the stress! If you know me at all, I love lists, so here is what happened in the world of Carrie Ann Ryan in 2013:
1. Books Galore
I went a little crazy with books. I had 13 releases in 2013

With these came the end of one series, Holiday Montana, and the start of another, Montgomery Ink. I went deeper into the Redwood Pack and Dante’s Circle series that I’ve ever thought I’ve ever been able to do.
2. USA Today List
My goal in writing was to reach readers. It was never to make a 7 figure deal and find an agent. Not that those aren’t freaking amazing things, but what I did this year made me happy. I made the USA Today List and was so surprised. I have my readers to thank for this.
3. Half a Million
I passed 500,000 books sold since 2011 this year. I have no idea how I did that other than my readers rock. Let’s hear it for another 500,000! (LOL)
4. A New Website and assistant
I’ve learned to ask others for help and thank God I did. Fatin, Charity, and Stacy have been my rocks this year and I’ve been able to breathe again.
5. Anthologies
I worked on two anthos this year: Ever After and Midnight Ink. Both were unique and freaking amazing to work on. I get to do two more in 2014. Tee hee.
6. Personal Life
My husband got his PHD this year. We moved to Chicago. We are now adults! LOL
7. New Family Member
We adopted a new cat, Cane, this year so now we have three rescue cats that are part of our family.
8. Fated Desires Publishing
We opened Fated Desires Publishing to other authors this year. Lia and I are indie authors who wanted to help other authors. It’s a great experiences working with other authors.
9. My Health
I’ve learned to actually take care of my health since I’m a little sick at the age of 27. Though now that we’ve moved I’ve had to learn how to work with my health again.
10. New Readers
I’ve met so many readers this year, had my first reader author lunch and plan to do more. Readers are the reason I get to do what I do, the reason I have a roof over my head, and the reason I have a smile on my face. Thank you!
