When I was a child, I used to make drawings similar to this weaving. I would fill a sheet of paper with a long squiggly line that crossed itself several times. Then I would draw parallel lines inside of each shape and color them in with markers. These were vividly colorful pieces and I find it surprising how monochromatic my work today is. But not so with these weavings.
It has been really fun to work with the color in my palette of paper! This is a collection of papers: my own string and abaca paper makes the background, and there are pieces from Tom Leech, Steve Pittelkow, Susan Kristoferson, Linda Draper and Shizen Design that have been integrated to create this weaving.
