Eleven's Hour is Over Now and the Clock is Striking Twelve
So the Christmas special was...not what I expected.
Firstly...how did they get out of Trenzalore the first time? Is that bothering no one else but me? Did they explain that to everyone else but me?
Secondly, while I know The Doctor is the lonely sort looking for a place to call home, the idea of him finding one is a bit...strange. I have difficulty imagining him finding a home.
Thirdly, Eleven told Ten they died on Trenzalore in their millions. I know time passed, but I don't think MILLIONS passed. I'm not sure they're when they thought they were.
Fourthly, I didn't like the cavalier explanation for The Silence. I LIKED the explanation, I just expected something...grander.
Fifthly, it's taken me an episode or two to like ANY new doctor. However, when Twelve said, "New kidneys...I don't like their color..." I smiled and went, "Yup, that's The Doctor."
It was a fun episode, and a bit grander than the regular Christmas specials we get. I like that, and was disappointment when it ended. Now I'm ready for the new series in Spring.

I just finished The Last Angry Geek and Diamanda Hagan's review of The Day of the Doctor and I agree on most points. I felt like they adapted an unused 10th script, and that a fiftieth anniversary should cover the whole fifty, not just the last few years.
I really think what they should have done was keep it in The Doctor's mind/timestream/scar tissue where they left off, and used some creative casting to have all eleven and a half doctors at one time, or at least to wander in and out of his memories, ie, "This dungeon is First Doctor-themed, complete with black and white color scheme, this one is Fifth Doctor, etc."
Seriously, how did they get out of that?
