I was driving home the other day and got stuck behind a car that was traveling impossibly slowly and also kept jamming on its brakes.
“Arrrggh!” I shouted. “What is the problem up there? What are you doing?”
And then, even though the day was clear, there was a sudden shower of snow across my windshield.
The shower of snow was followed by a red-tailed hawk.
His left wing brushed the glass in front of me.
He was beautiful, ferocious.
And then he was gone.
