7 Things I’ve Learned So Far

Looking for some unsolicited advice on writing from a newbie author? Of course you are! In which case, you should head on over to Writer’s Digest, where I contribute my thoughts in a recurring column called, “7 Things I’ve Learned So Far”. (I can’t tell you how tempted I was to start with “humility”, but irony is a dangerous tool to wield when people don’t know you.)

I could have gone to fifteen without breaking a sweat, especially if I included not only things I’ve learned (i.e. mistakes I’ve made), but also things I’m trying to learn (i.e. mistakes I’m still making). But another Thing I’ve Learned is to follow editorial guidelines, so seven it is. Enjoy!
