Fun at the ER...

So, this happened.

My husband works at a machine shop, and earlier this week he had an "industrial accident." This is a polite way of saying "trust me, it's gruesome and you don’t want me to describe it." At some point during the 7 hours in the ER, the doctor came in to stitch up what he could.

My husband does not like pain or needles. As the stitching went on, I was talking to him, trying to keep him as distracted as possible. Eventually...

*doctor, who has paused the stitching to talk to assisting med student, suddenly starts again. husband jumps and hisses*

Doctor: Did that hurt?

Husband: Not really. I just want some warning when you're going to put a lot of holes in me.

Me: Um...

Husband: *glares at me* Don't you say it.

Me: Well, you know...

Husband: *laughs* Stop trying to cheer me up!

He knew I was going to say something to the effect of "there's already lots of holes in you." At least he laughed for a minute.

BTW, hubby is doing OK, has not broken any bones or lost any fingers, and gets at least a week off work. Looking on the positive side here. :-)

Lyanna That is a good example of a strong marriage and how much the ER sucks, =) I am glad he is okay. How long have you guys been together?
