Yeah I know, It took longer than it should
I’ve grumbled about the different sections of the book during the writing process before. I’m not grumbling to day. Okay, maybe a little, but I have a positive point.
I’ve been working on War’s Passion for the last month and a half. For once I didn’t get stuck in the middle like I usually do. Yay! My problem this time was wrapping up the ending. I complete wrote this book by the seat of my pants (that’s called pantzing). Now I did go through and did my version of fast drafting. That’s where I go ahead within the manuscript and create bullet points for each future chapter. Though most of the MS was pantzed. I seem to write better that way. And I’ll be doing the same for the next book as well.
The ending to War Passion took too long for me to write. Yes, I have a life and it gets in the way, a lot. I think my problem with the ending was that I didn’t know what the next book was about. Therefore, I didn’t know how to set up that transition/cliffhanger to book 2. Until tonight!
If you follow me on Twitter you might had seen my post about the “ah-ha!” moment. Well that was when I answered a question that will be a major plot point in Sons of War book 2, Ashes of War. I can’t tell you what that is. I know I’m a tease. But I promise you will love it when it gets here in the early summer.
I love my job! I love the excitement I get when I discover a plot point that pulls everything together. I even love the added chapters to the ending of the book that pushes me over the deadline date. I just plain love being creative. I also love my readers. They always reach out to me to tell me that they loved my latest release and say they can’t wait for more. Many, many thanks to all of you!
