Xmas Reading with Hilary West
It is perhaps my ebooks for children which have a particular Christmas flavour. 'Harriet's Christmas Holiday', in the series of Harriet's holiday books, sees Harriet go to York with her mum to visit her gran for festive fun. Weird goings-on alert Harriet to something suspicious and a little mystery is solved with the help of Tommy, the gardener's grandson. 'Witches' Treasure' is a wonderful collection of six short tales for children and is an ebook. 'Tree of Jewels' is set at Christmastime and 'The Glass Bell' is a magical story that sees little Bella travel to fairyland with Rosebud, the fairy of the bell. Other stories include 'Wishing Well', a tale of old Mother Shipton, and also 'The Fortune-Teller' which tells of a magical leprechaun and a helpful gypsy. 'The Secret Kingdom' is a print book which is full of colourful descriptions and a special atmosphere. It consists of four intriguing tales.
For adults, my latest book is a mystery entitled 'Fraudster's Folly' and is perfect Christmas reading, where you can curl up with your kindle and a warming cup of cocoa. 'A Picaresque Tale', also an ebook, is the diary of Ashley Redbridge, a troubled teenager. If you liked Adrian Mole the book is not dissimilar. 'Where the Boys are' is a print book and is an intriguing mystery set in the world of bad, bad, boys. It may even shock as well as amaze you. Sapphire Easterbrook knows all about boys! Other books out as ebooks include 'Apollyon' and 'The Dome' and my short stories are represented in 'The Silk Peacock', 'Tangerine City' and 'The Iridescent Butterfly'.
Bookcountry.com is cheaper than Amazon and 'Fraudster's Folly' is for sale at Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Bookcountry.com and other online outlets.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year 2015 to you all.
